Kim “Key” Kibum: The Key To SHINee’s Flare
I just love Key, the 20-year-old SHINee member known for his flamboyant style and charm. You may wonder where the stagename “Key” comes from. There is a Kim Kibum that existed publicly before this one, and he was once part of Super Junior (current on leave of absence). To not confuse fans and the public, SHINee Kibum decided to take on the stagename of “Key”. He also is known by another term of endearment “Almighty Key” because of incredible talent and contribution to SHINee by way of his dance, singing and rapping skills. Even though Minho is my overall SHINee bias, Key is my SHINee vocal bias. All of the other SHINee members deem Key the “omma” (Korean for “mother”) of the group, as he is always nagging and making a fuss over them with an uncanny maternal instinct.
I remember the first time I saw Key in SHINee’s “Noona Neomu Yeoppo (Older girl you’re very pretty)” video. All I could think was, “who’s the kid with the perfect face?!” Key’s looks are striking, no doubt about it. But I must confess that my affections for Key are totally platonic and big-sisterly. Something else I really appreciate about Key is that he seems to really appreciate his fans, and no matter where SHINee is in the world, he always seems to be the one member who acknowledges them with a kind smile and warm wave. He’s also known for being physically affectionate with his beloved Shawols (SHINee fans); and humbly receives their praise and adoration through gracious bows and thanks. I think it’s safe to say that Key is worldclass.
Date Week with B2ST/BEAST!
RAWR, RAWR!, MEOW, MEOW! This weeks Date Week victims are none other than BEAST or who I like to call Beastuelll ( Korean style, don’t hate). This week BEAST has been sooo busy with Battle of the Most Dramatic Videos and today they even released their mini MV for their single “I Knew It” which you can watch here. They need a break and dating is the perfect way to relieve some stress! You know how it goes; Pick one member to date for each day of the week and describe what you’ll do with them or what you’ll do to them. *shrug* ^_^
Monday: Jang Hyuen Seung
Now I really like Hyuen Seung; in fact I think his moves in the mv for “Breath” are sexy. I chose to give him Mondays because he really likes food and since I can only indulge 1 day a week I’ll indulge with him. We’ll hit up local places and eat things like fish cakes, kimchi pancakes and jajamyun. All that will make my face look bloated and there’s no way I can show up on my dates with Dong Woon and Doojoon looking like the marshmallow man! I need a few days in between to recover that’s why he’s Monday. ^_^
Tuesday: Yong Jun Hyung I’m not sure this dude is really my type. Dont misunderstand he’s gotta lot of swagger and he’s pretty cute; but his personality is sorta, I dunno. Besides one day he’s with Goo Hara (member of girl group KARA) and the next hes not and I don’t have time for that mess. So I guess we can talk about our relationship problems over a bottle or 2 or 3 or 4 of Soju!
Wednesday: Lee Ki Kwang I ❤ Ki Kwang! He’s so cute especially when he wears his glasses ^_^ Weird but my favorite thing about him is his voice. Its very attractive so all I wanna do with him is a have Korean Language study session! This way not only can I improve my Korean, but I can listen to him talk and stare him since he’ll look all nerd-licious.
Thursday: Yang Yoseob He is sooo adorable with his button nose and sunshine smile!! Him and his Aegyo I love it! He and I will first stop at the Make Up counter so I can pick out new lipstick and gloss. We can try colors on each other and then pick up couples Kitty ears in pink. We both look cute in kitty ears so we have to take couples pics and then we can go to one of those joke stores and play with everything because it’ll be alot of fun duh!
Friday: Maknae Son Dong Woon I would seriously date him! He’s so hot and tall plus he really likes noonas, it’s like his “thing”. What I really love about him is how he whines about things! He looks so cuuuute when he whines it makes me want to buy him whatever he wants. So that’s what I’ll do. On our date we’re going shopping and whatever he wants I’ll buy it for him and then we can share an ice cream cone. Seeing him smile would be enough ^_^
Saturday and for Eternity: Leader Yoon Doo Joon Ugh I am in love with Doo Joon! Everything about him from his body to those eyes and awesomely arched eyebrows. His personality is a perfect mix of seriousness and fun plus he’s very organized and so am I. He is so my style and we would look really good together. So duh I feel a couples photo shoot is in order and then for some reason I’d wanna play twister with him 0_O

Teen Top: They Really Want Me Behind Bars!
Sooo ummm, yeah, Teen Top. Can someone explain to me why “sexiness” is developing younger and younger? Now I already hold a double standard with American and Korean guys when it comes to age. Basically American guys younger than me have not a chance in the universe but I can care less if a Korean guy is younger HOWEVER! This group is realllllly annoying me. Just look at that MV! (No seriously look at the mv first or else you wont know what I’m talkin about) They are tooo freakin cute and I’m telllin you right now the main actor and rapper L. Joe is seriously just …… He’s freakin 18! Only 3 out of the 6 are legal actually. That main cutie with the long hair Niel he’s only 17 and the other 2 are 16. Dont worry in the photo gallery below are names and ages listed.
But back to sexiness at an early age. First off whats with that dance move?! The lyric is “Stop, stop breakin my heart” and they are moving their hands all suggestive like in front of their crotches! Uhhhh your heart is not below your sagging belts youngins! (BTW I happen to like their pants being low like that. They look cute but BOAB playing Conservative Noona feels they need to pull them up!)
Then of course there’s L.Joe with his “come hither” hand movement. O.M.G! I would run to that freakin 18 year old and not think twice about it!
Point is this…FANGIRL WITH CAUTION! Also I have no problem saying I LOVE that song and have been listening their other songs as well. I like Teen Top and I am not ashamed!

Battle of The Most Dramatic Music Videos II
What a tight race! I really thought SS501’s “Love Ya” was gonna take the top spot but alas! The winner was MBLAQ with their music video for “Stay”. (Missed the last vote and are unsure of what a dramatic video is click here)
Will they be able to keep the top spot this week? It’s up to you to decide but the competition is tough. This weeks battle challengers ready to steal the crown are TVXQ with “Keep Ya Head Down” and BEAST/B2ST with “Breath”.
MBLAQ is staying strong with fierce hair and makeup accompanied by longing looks at the camera. TVXQ is bringing fire, whips and leather to the battlefield while Beast is showin up with heavy guy-liner, feather and spiked headbands plus pouring rain and hard-hitting dance moves.

Lee Min Ki: I Really Really Like Him
I have seriously been dying to do this profile on actor, model and singer Lee Min Ki! The main photo of oppa is my laptop background that’s how much I love him! Pssh! Becoming my laptop background is a big deal since only the top guys on my list get to grace it ^_^
Anyway ugh there’s not enough I can say about oppa because to me he’s perfect! He’s literally like 4 of my bias all rolled into a 6 foot tall body of model perfection. No seriously look at him! He looks like Kim Heechul, Hyun Bin, 2pms Chansung and Se7en (circa 2007) all mixed together! He has a goofy super cute smile like Alice’s Cheshire cat, chocolate-brown eyes and high extremely defined cheekbones. No he’s not totally built and he is pretty thin but I love his lanky body and long legs..Hes just plain sexy and he’s such a good actor!
In this weeks K-Drama: “I Really Really Like You” he plays Presidential Secret Service Agent, Nam Bong Ki. I absolutely loved his acting; he has so many different facial expressions and he really draws you in during those sad and angry moments. His acting was just so natural that he became the main focus of the drama for me. Lee Min Ki has a long list of dramas and movies he’s been in and can currently be seen in the movie “Quick” and up coming drama “Shut Up Flower Boy Band” .
Yummy Stats: 6ft tall. Birthday: January 16, 1985. Age: 27. Majored in Art. Blood Type A. Star Sign: Capricorn. BTW! I almost forgot he likes OLDER women and heres what he had to say during an interview in August of 2011

K-Pop Rewind: H.O.T
Oh YeeeAHHH! I’m kickin it old school and introducing a new series “K-Pop Rewind”. This is all about giving a shout out and appreciating the Idols who basically paved the way for the Idols we love today. I’m starting the series off with the one and only H.O.T ( High five Of Teenagers) created by SM in 1996. The group disbanded in 2001, but when talking about Korean boybands they are Kings. Many of your favorite groups today have totally indulged in doing covers of their singles like “Candy” and “We are the Future”. They were so huge they even had their own soda brand! So lets get to the fun…
Check out their 1997 MV for “We are the Future”. Dont make fun of me but I love it! They were seriously bustin a move, rockin in silk pajamas and whippin some seriously crazy hair. Below are their stats with then and now pictures.

[M/V] MBLAQ- It’s War
I have to say I pretty much love almost everything about this MV. The song is great especially the chorus. The hot outfits, the seriously overly dramatic acting complete with expressive hand and arm movements for days. Mir lets loose with an angry rap verse; seriously this is more like a mini drama believe me. The ending freaked me out and I just have to ask this… Whats the deal with MBLAQ and extreme violence involving women? This is the second video ( ‘Y’ ) a gun has been in Lee Joons hands. Lee Taemin: Immortal Song II
Idol contestants,audience votes, new song renditions and battles by draw selection all put together form the basics behind the show Immortal Song II. Because I’m a total Korean everything YouTube Junkie I hooked you all up with an episode of the show. You’ll notice some familiar faces like SHInee’s Jonghyun, Super Juniors Yesung and BEAST member Yoseob ^_^
This season SHINee is getting another chance to make it into the winners circle with the participation of their maknae Lee Taemin! Ohh yeahhhh we’re gonna see Taemin take already popular songs and make them his own. I know the dancing will be good because he’s got that on lock (duh!) but what about the singing? It’s not like he’s bustin out lead vocals on a regular basis. Now I know he’s been practicing his singing; hes even filled in for Jonghyun while he was M.I.A for a performance of Lucifer ( He was def earning that paycheck pssh! The way Taemin was running around that stage you would have thought he was filling in for the whole group.)
But the question is will the lights go off on him? I personally don’t think so and I’m not saying it because of my total adoration for him. Taemin really has a unique beautiful tone to his voice. I think he’ll have no problem holding his own in the competition; What does everyone else think?

Han Geng: Life After Super Junior
The soft-spoken former Super Junior member with the adorable laugh had long since left the popular Korean boyband before I knew anything about him. But once I learned his story, I was moved and felt it deserved to be told here. Han Geng, 27, (pronounced “Hahn Gung”) was born in Heilongjiang, China to a businessman father and housewife mother. From a young age, he had dreams of becoming an entertainer, and later as a teenager, he was given the opportunity to train in singing, dancing and acting under SM Entertainment, South Korea’s largest entertainment company. Geng moved to South Korea all by himself, and so his story with Super Junior began. Read all about his time before, during and after Super Junior here. If I thought it necessary, I would rehash all the ugly details of the suffering he endured, illnesses he developed and lawsuit he brought against SM, but that would be beating a dead horse. The good news is that he stood up, fought for his human rights, succeeded and is now thriving in China as an actor, singer and model. Whether he belongs to Super Junior or not, his countryfolk love him regardless, and they’ve been nothing but supportive since his return. He is known for being incredibly generous, and urges his fans to donate money and material things (that they would normally send to him as gifts) to his favourite charities to help fight hunger and poverty in China.
I don’t know why Han Geng’s story has touched me so deeply, but I can tell you that out of all of the guys that have been featured on this blog, Geng has definitely become one of my favourite. Let’s keep an eye on him and wish him the best with his career and future endeavors. 🙂
