Old Soul Kpop: Brown Eyes

Today was a rainy, cold dreary day and I was in the mood for some smooth sounds. I wandered around youtube and thankfully stumbled across an old kpop duo named Brown Eyes. They came out in the early 2000s releasing 4 albums. The albums were mostly R&B ballads and from what I’ve heard so far, these guys were amazing. They never went on music shows or really did any type of promotions. They actually turned down some awards because they wanted to keep the focus on their music and not on them. Their last album was released back in 2008 and  have since gone their separate ways. There are a few songs and m/v’s on youtube but this song I’ve had on repeat all afternoon. Grab a glass of wine, light some candles and enjoy!

Sexy Oppa: Cha Seung Won

Okay, I think it’s time for me to move to Korea and start drinking their water. Why? Because everyone there must be drinking from the fountain of youth, including this man.  Cha Seung Won is one of the few Korean men that have facial hair, and I actually like it.  The first time I saw him was in the kdrama City Hall.  The show was meh, but I absolutely loved him in it.  Apparently he’s had a lot of comedic rolls (like in the Greatest Love) but I can only see him action/angsty rolls like “Athena” or “Eye for an Eye”. Also can I mention that he stars in “71: Into the Fire” with TOP? Always a plus. Besides dramas and movies, he’s been in a few music videos. Most recently he was the brooding ajussi/bounty hunter in T-ara’s  music video for “Cry, Cry”. Very sexy but very long since the video was 15 minutes.

Cha Seung Won is also a family man. He married his wife when he was 18 and they are still happily together. They have a son who is 23 and a daughter who’s 8.  I know I’d be one smiling lady, if I were his wife. His son is handsome as well and his daughter is too cute! Here is a list of some of his movies and dramas if you are interested in watching.

Murder, Take One

Athena: Goddess of War

[M/V] Son Ho Young – Pretty But Hateful

I came across Son Ho Young by way of someone’s playlist on iTunes. I was in another room and by the time the preview had reached 30 seconds, I was ready to buy his mini album. Son Ho Young was part of the idol group g.o.d, who were extremely popular in the late 90s early 2000s. He’s been doing his solo act since 2006 but this is his first release in about three years. U-Turn only has about five songs including the obligatory instrumental but if his full album is as good as the songs I’ve heard so far, Son Ho Young will have definitely have many new fans in the New Year. He also gets extra points for being from Jersey and for being a total hottie.

[M/V] Kim Tae Woo – Love Rain

Formerly of the 90s singing group G.O.D. (Groove Overdose), Kim Tae Woo was actually in the military from 2007 to 2009 and commenced his music career as quickly as he could as soon as he finished his mandatory service.

Yes, yes yes I know this song is like 2 years old, but I like it and love Tae Woo’s distinct voice, so I thought it’d be nice to post it and give our oppa some attention. His “younger brother” Bi speaks so highly of him, and I can’t help but think he is a sweet, cuddly teddy bear of a guy that Bi has sometimes laid his head on his shoulder and cried. Afterall, true manly men show their feelings 🙂

Enjoy!

Oh Ji Ho Sings On “Come To Play”

In an effort to focus more on the 30-something hotties, I’ve decided to start off said initiative with 35-year-old South Korean actor Oh Ji Ho, and his rendition of…well, I don’t really know what he’s singing. Anyway, let’s assess what he’s workin’ with….

Sexiness (dimples and all!!)? Check.
Acting talent? Check.
Singing talent? Uhm….not so much.

Oh well, 2 outta 3 ain’t bad! Enjoy!

So Ji Sub: My Favourite Oppa

As much as I love me some sexy, booty-bouncin’ Bi, there’s something ultra-appealing about the handsome, older guy with the quiet demeanor. Let me provide you with an example. Check out the clip below (if you’re at work, call all the girls over but make sure the boys aren’t around. They won’t be able to handle it and might start hatin’ on a oppa!). Enjoy and Happy Friday! 🙂

P.S. – Lately we’ve been messin’ with the youngins…it’s time to give some EXTRA, SPECIAL attention to the 30-somethings (Bi included). Also, who’s your favourite oppa?

So Ji Sub’s Back With A New Movie Role

I am very pleased to hear this! I was ready for something new from him after “Rough Cut” and “Sophie’s Revenge” (which are both great, if you haven’t seen them!). According to hancinema.com, So Ji Sub has been cast to play the lead role opposite Song Il-gon in “Only You”, a romantic drama. Apparently, he will be playing a boxer, and Song Il-gon will be playing his love interest, who is going blind.

I know he’s the type that chooses roles carefully, so I know he’ll put all his best into it and show us what he’s working with.

Brian Joo Has Substance

The more I learn about this guy, the more I like him. You remember him: he’s the Korean American singer who dated a black girl while in school in the States. In the vidclip below, he discusses his struggles training as an entertainer in South Korea, and his latest project: recording a Christian album. And can I just say that a man who recognizes and feeds his spiritual need is extremely attractive!
