Junsu: Send Happy Thoughts His Way

Isnt it funny how we were just talking about 2PM’s Junsu? He was the BKM Hottie this week after all ^_^ I even added that he had knee surgery and was hanging out in a hospital room. Who knew that such tragedy was about to take place.

Today Junsu’s appa passed away and it makes me really sad.

I don’t know what their relationship was like so I can’t sit here and say I know exactly how he’s feeling. True, I know what its like to lose my father and for me it was a pain that I should not have had to experience at such a young age ( I was 10 ). I’m sure his knee doesn’t hurt at the moment because the pain he’s feeling is else where; but I have to be honest and say this sad news hurts me.

Junsu is my 2PM bias and I know what its like to lose a parent. The combination of my adoration for him as a person and the all to familiarity with death makes me want to reach out and send as many prayers, happy thoughts and best wishes to him and his family as I can possibly create…To all the readers send happy thoughts his way ok?

Date Week with 2PM!

Ahhh, 2PM. My favourite K-pop boyband. The beastly boys with the good looks, masculine style and energetic dance choreography. Not only do I really appreciate their image, but I also really enjoy their music (namely their “1:59” and “Hottest Time of the Day” albums), which reminds me of the Miami bass music I listened to growing up in the 90s. When JYP created 2PM, he knew exactly what he was doing. He wasn’t going for the sweet, sometimes syrupy image synonymous with most SM acts, or even the alternative, eclectic image of YG’s most popular groups. No, he was intent on creating a boyband with the perfect balance between Korean pretty-boy and U.S. urban bad boy. 2PM: a boyband after my own heart. So, without further ado, read on to find out how I’d spend a date with each member…

Monday – Wooyoung
Wooyoung is a trip. I consider him the comic relief of the group and I’d love to see him do standup at a comedy club. He is also 2PM’s aegyo king. No one in the group can top his killing aegyo! I’m sure by the time my date ended with Wooyoung, my sides will be completely split from laughing so much and so hard. Good times!

Tuesday – Taecyeon
Mirror mirror on the wall, who’s the beastliest member of them all? Ok Taecyeon! Taec takes care of his bod and it shows. For a date, I’d like to go to the gym with him and experience a one-on-one wrestling match. I have a feeling the date may end early as his phone will continually be blowing up with texts and calls from SNSD members. Not a nice way to treat your noona-date, Taec!

Wednesday – Chansung
Sometimes Chansung seems to zone out to another dimension, so I probably wouldn’t make a lot of effort to dig into his personality. I get the feeling he likes Sci-fi movies, so we’d go check out a weird flick at the nearest movie theatre and finish up the date by playing in the adjacent arcade for a little while. This guy is also known for having a healthy appetite. We’d go to one of those all you can eat buffets and tear it up. I believe the way to Chansung’s heart is truly through his stomach.

Thursday – Junho
Junho’s an amazing dancer and I would love for him to show me how to do some of his best dance moves. Part of his appeal is that he is very serious about his career and is a very hard worker, and I believe that dedication also comes through when he’s in a relationship. I’d like to experience what it’s like to get his full attention for a day. I don’t think I’d be disappointed 

Friday – Junsu
Chilling with our favourite “round-the-way” boy would be the best way to end a hectic work week. Junsu’s got incredible personal style and carries himself in such a way that reminds me more of a sweet-natured U.S. urban boy-next-door than a stereotypical shy Asian guy. He’s a stellar singer and song-writer and I would want to spend some time listening to his musical compositions with him. Afterwards a walk down to the local, trendy ramen shop would be the perfect way to end the date. Ramen noodles with Junsu: best Friday I’ve had in a long time!

Saturday & Sunday – Nichkhun
Ah Nichkhun! Mr: Never-disrespectful-cuz-his-mama-taught-him-that!” *Sigh* and so the weekend belongs to Khunnie. He is my ultimate 2PM bias because he is a gentlemen and obviously had very good home-training. Kudos to his parents for raising such a well-mannered young man. Of course I am in complete denial if I hear anything negative about this guy. What I really like about him is that no matter if you’re someone he has feelings for or not, he’ll still treat you like a lady, which gets him into trouble often. But I can’t be mad at him. A full Saturday would be spent at a theme park with lots of roller coasters and cotton candy. Sunday would be spent watching award-winning foreign films one after the other, only taking breaks to eat by ordering takeout or rustling something up in the kitchen. No cell phones allowed! Complete quiet time with Khunnie. My year is made! ^^

Date Week with DBSK!

Ohhh yeah! I finally brought “Date Week” back and doing it big with DBSK! Now look I KNOW they aren’t together anymore but it makes sense just to group them as one for this instead of having two different date weeks sooo just deal with it k? Besides, all you DBSK fans out there wish they were back together anyway. Now that we have that out of the way if you were given a chance to date each member at the same time, what day of the week would each one get and what would you do with them or to them…I wont judge you ^_^

Monday: Changmin

Ehh what can I say? Changmin really doesn’t do it for me. There is def a certain topic I wont mention here that Ide like to chat with him about (haha inside info btwn him and I) but that’s about it. Maybe we can find a hobby together, like umm painting those weird little white clay statue things. I have a feeling he would enjoy that.

Tuesday: Junsu

Junsu is sooo not my style let me just totally put it out there right now. His facial features aren’t as defined as I like but of course that’s me being picky and shallow as usual. However I love his smile and his laugh plus his personality is totally sweet. Soo Ide like to spend my time with him at an arcade getting crazy competitive, eating cotton candy; the blue one cuz although the pink is pretty the blue is ultra yummy!

Wednesday: Micky Yoochun

I consider Micky “Average Asian” and BOAB has argued with me way toooo many times over this.Look hes totally cute BUT average looking; I mean can’t you just see him workin in your office or strollin down the street texting passing you by?!? He just doesn’t scream Idol to me no matter how many weird hair cuts they give him! So for our date let’s go grocery shopping…No for serious I think grocery shopping with a guy is fun and it would be interesting to see what he picks out and makes me put back.

 

 

Thursday: Yunho

Ugh Yunho is just too cute. He makes my list of “arm candy”  I really don’t want to do anything with him but walk around. I know he’s athletic and into working out but I’m not about to run out on a field or anything like that. However we can totally hit the gym together and while I walk on the treadmill boppin to music from other KPOP groups I’ll just stare at him while he glistens of sweat…sounds like good times right!?

 

 

Friday and Forever After: KIM JAEJOONG!

I don’t even have to explain because you all know I seriously love this guy. I mean him and I are so alike, we’re both really cute people, have some what manic personalities etc. I feel like we would have couples clothing and share makeup. We could buy a new kitten who would be bilingual and its name could be “KrisEro” (Kris + Hero duhhh!). It would be totally awesome! Sooo Friday night can be spent planning couples activities while he teaches me to cook something he really likes!

Telisha Shaw: Our Secret

There are some really hateful, mean-spirited people out there, regardless of race and nationality. K-pop fandom is not safe from these people, and lately, with the rumors of love between Telisha Shaw and Junsu of JYJ increasing, these hateful people have really started to come out of the woodworks. Their hatefullness is not just spurned from jealousy, but from racism. For too long, Black women have been considered the lowest of the low, the bottom of the barrel, and the least desirable women in the world. Even our own men seem to not want us sometimes. We all know its not true, but it hurts.

So what happens when a beautiful Black woman comes along, and steals the heart of a non-Black man who is beloved by many women (of all races) in the world? Of course, there will be jealousy; the typical kind between two women that are fighting over the same man. But the jealousy becomes laced with racism, the kind with the underlying concept of “but wait, she’s Black! You’re not supposed to like her because she’s Black! She’s not as good as me because (insert superficial, physical reason based on color or stereotypes here)! I’m better than her!” That is what happens. This beautiful, attractive, smart and totally worthy Black woman becomes reduced to becoming a receptacle of hateful, racist remarks and death threats. Really??? Are we still living in a world like this? Apparently so.

What I like about Telisha is that she is not about to take this lying down. Instead, she’s come up with her own nifty PR, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to share it with all of you in this post. It is her recently released song “Our Secret”, and you are more than willing to come to your own conclusion as to what and whom she is referring to 😉 Some say she’s trolling, others say she’s on to something. You decide!

JYJ – Be My Girl (Fanmade MV)

Check out this fanmade video of JYJ’s Junsu and American dancer Telisha, affectionately dubbed by finger-crossing fans as “Telisu”. I liked JYJ’s song “Be My Girl” on first listen. Love the groove, and it definitely becomes JYJ.

Now We Know That JYJ’s Open To Interracial Marriage

From yesterday’s post (simply scroll down to see it), a video clip of JYJ’s recent interview on MTVK was pasted into comments (thank you, thank you, thank you majolie87!!), and I believe it needs serious review. I found Junsu’s thoughts on interracial marriage to be very telling.
Concerning the question that JYJ was asked: “Have you ever thought of dating someone of a different race?“, I thought this was a very forward-thinking, progressive question. It only goes to show that with the exposure and travel of K-pop artists to more and more foreign countries, the chances of interracial dating/relationships/marriage are increased. And now, even the Korean media is acknowledging it! Now, although the question is aimed at all the members, Micky (with a curious grin) felt the need to default the question to Junsu. Hmmm….I wonder why? Ok so we all know why!
The most telling of Junsu’s comments is when he said (in so many words) that, for him, not knowing fluent English has become a barrier to carrying on a meaningful, interracial relationship. I thought it was interesting that he mentioned English….like that is the only language of someone of another race. Of course not, but he probably had a special someone on his mind (who speaks English) and so made a ‘slip’. I was happy to hear that he considered it an option, and spoke with authority when saying that the other two members, JaeJoong and Micky, were just as open.

I will note that in another link that majolie87 posted, Junsu spoke of an instance of when he was in France. He witnessed a little blonde girl calling out ‘papa’, which made him dream of interracial marriage. So, it seems that Junsu is just an open person who doesn’t consider color or race a factor. Sure, he may have a preference, but when it comes down to it, he’s looking for a good person. I would actually prefer a man like this. What do you guys think?
