  1. Love Russell Wong!! But no Ken Wantanabe and Rick Yune on the list. I guess no one likes older Asian men but me 🙂

  2. That Asian and French mixture is the way to go because Russell Wong and Ian Dale are super fine!!! And I wonder What Russell Wongs’ daughter from the African American Dancer looks like?? ( that would be interesting to see)…

  3. Ah, you got my man Russell Wong up there..oh my! I loved him In New Jack City. I didn’t know that he starred in 21 Jump Street. How did I miss out on him like that? I guess I was too busy eyeballing Dustin Nguyen.

    • I agree. But him kissing that girl I don’t remember her name now but before I searched her and she was on Wendy William’s show and seemed uncomfortable but was fine when she was around whites, it doesn’t seem like she even considers herself black maybe I’m look too into it. And yeah I’ve seen Ashley before people are always bothering her, it makes me sad for her. Even people following her keep saying over and over like damn! she’s huge. Even people questioning her gender because of her height, it’s pathetic.

      • Oh I know. I do feel bad for her sometimes. And people calling her Amazon Ashley is rude. But their are times where I think she likes the attention. I mean she doesn’t exactly dress like someone who doesn’t want to be noticed. Her boobies are always hanging out for the world to see…. but I like her courage and look at me additude.

      • After googleing it I found her name is Dania Ramirez and she’s Hispanic from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. So maybe she doesn’t claim it, or she is really full blood Hispanic. Who knows. She’s not that great of an actress in my opinion but, whatever.

  4. Um….Where is Sung Kang!!! OMG he is so foxxy and hella cool. He even posted my pic on his facebook fan page, because I was his 60k fan. But then he also gave me then nick name Provactive Farticus……hmmm.
I love how he actually talks to his fans and posts pics up. And Fast Five, he was so FINE!

    • Oh and not to sound like a total perv but Russell Wong was smoking hott in Phrophecy 2. The sex scene in that movie, wow! Russell is…..talented. 😀

  5. @Jodie,
Dania claims “Domincan” (and not African-American,black or anything close to it) In every interview I have ever seen her do, she says it over, and over, and over to the point where you want to say B**** we get it!!!!!! 😦

Russell was in Phopechy 2??? Well, I reason to run to Blockbuster today

    • Ok I don’t know much about Dominicans or their culture. But I always thought they were decendants of African slaves that lived and grew up in Spanish culture. But I could be completely wrong. I have no clue. Someone educate me on the difference between black/African and Dominican.

And yes, Russell Wong is foxxy in Prophecy 2, rent it quick!

      • Thanks Jodie for the heads up. I enjoyed seeing Russell in Prophecy 2. I don’t know how I missed that one. I also watched China Cry.

    • Well Jodie, according to the Wikipedia someone who is of Dominican descent is a person with origins in the Dominican Republic. According to Census reports, some Dominicans list themselves as White, some list themselves as Black. Some Dominicans are of African/European ancestry and some of African/European/Taino Indian ancestry.

I don’t know about Dominican people either, my thoughts were the same as yours. I thought they were of Black/Hispanic ancestry as well.

If someone is of Dominican descent reading this post, please enlighten us.

      • “I don’t know about Dominican people either, my thoughts were the same as yours. I thought they were of Black/Hispanic ancestry as well.” Yes, they are, but there seems to be some hostility among some (those of color) that does not want to be referred to as black from what I have seen and experienced. If you make comments about people like Zoe Saldana, etc, you will get corrected rather quickly….

I would love to hear insight (as to why,) as well.

Perhaps, when actors claim/say they have certain biological backgrounds, it will increase their chances of getting roles in Hollywood, I don’t know.

      • You know LadyOrchid, my opinion is that many celebs of color (namely with Black origins) don’t want to identify solely with being Black for the usual reasons. It’s tough being Black, on so many levels, yet the WORLD is influenced by Black people in many ways and in diverse areas of expertise. We are emulated often times (as we see in K-Pop and in other fields). People recognize the “thing” that is our PRESENCE and Want to be “all up in that”, but to “live” in our shoes knowing it can be tough….That they Don’t want. So hey, if they are the ones of us who can “reside” in the category listed as Other, then why not do it….and many do.

  6. No Justin Chon :(. He’s hilarious, and I think he has potential to break into the market, even if that means taking some mainstream roles first.

Heh, in regards to the last reply, sometimes it works in the reverse or the opposite way, being quicker to identify yourself as Black to be included/ accepted into the community.

    • @MeeisLee,

Welcome to BWLB! You responded to my statement regarding celebs with Black origins. There was a earlier posted comment that mentioned Dania Ramirez, who is a popular actress in Hollywood right now, who happens to be of Dominican descent. The poster of the comment stated that she was quickly corrected when she referred to Ms. Ramirez as Black. A few of us were under the impression that those of Dominican descent were of Black/Hispanic origins, but we are not totally sure. Even so, we believe that some entertainers may have opted to “play down” the Black part of their heritage in order to go further in Hollywood. For some actors/actresses to be racially ambigiuous makes them “exotic.” This was the general consensus I believe. We were referring mainly to those in Hollywood.

      • I understood that, just pointing out otherwise :).

And now, looking at the article again, Daniel Henney isn’t on the list either :(.
